Welcome to a website dedicated to the descendants of William Green Dudley and Lavisa Ann Ashmore Dudley. Here we are accumulating an archive of historic photos, documents, and writings related to this genealogical line. Contributions are welcome. Contact the webmaster by clicking here.
There are some really interesting landmarks and historical places relevant to the Dudley family history located in England. If you look at the links below, you'll see there's a Castle, a College, a Zoo and even a hotly debated haunted legend (although that's in New England, outside Connecticut)! If you want to check out the attractions in England, your first order of business should be looking for hotels in London England. From there you should be able to easily get to the Castle, Zoo and College. Both the Castle and Zoo are worth visiting even if you aren't related to a Dudley. Dudley Castle was built in 700 AD and overlooks the Zoo, which houses more than 1,000 animals and over 200 different species. Another fantastic attraction is the Dudley Canals. You can take boat tours of varying lengths (from 45 minutes to 6 hours) and take in the sights of the Canals, which are actually underground tunnels that were used to ferry raw materials during the
Industrial Revolution. Of course, there are countless other activities and attractions to see if you go to jolly old England for a vacation, but I'd definitely recommend Dudley Castle, Dudley Zoo and the Dudley Canals to be at the top of your list!
I have put some samples up HERE showing some of the kinds of materials that are available at ancestry dot com.
